The major focus of the division is on devices for supporting the human cardiopulmonary system with core competence in the areas of mass, momentum and energy transfer. Currently, the Division is developing Membrane Oxygenators, Paracorporeal Left Ventricular Assist Device, Centrifugal Blood, magnetic bloodflow meters, implantable micro infusion pump, micro dialyser etc. Other projects include infrared energybased technologies for blood warmers, infant warmers, vein viewers and Hb monitor. The division also has developed transcutaneous energy transfer system (TETS) and brush less motors as part of ongoing programs.
