SCTIMST offers post-doctoral courses in Cardiology, Cardiovascular and thoracic surgery, Neurology, Neurosurgery, Cardiac and neuro anesthesia (read more about Academic & Research).

The Institute is a Registered Medical Device Testing Laboratory under CDSCO for carrying out Test or Evaluation of medical device on behalf of manufacturer under the Medical Devices Rules,2017.

The Institute Invites Expression of Interest from interested industry to associate with the process of translation. Kindly contact tbd@sctimst.ac.in for any information on Technology Transfer.

Hospital Wing

The hospital has 253 beds and serves as tertiary referral center for cardio-vascular, thoracic and neurologic diseases. With a number of highly qualified personnel including doctors, nurses and other para-medical staff, various departments of the hospital have updated state-of-the-art facilities for diagnosis and treatment with highly advanced and sophisticated equipments.

BMT Wing

The Biomedical Technology Wing (BMT Wing) located at the Satelmond Palace at Poojappura, Trivandrum consists of culturally diverse and pluralistic team committed to medical device development, research & teaching. The broad areas of activities of the wing include Medical devices, Biomaterials, Biocompatibility, Tissue Engineering, Product incubation and commercialization.

AMCHSS

The Achutha Menon Centre for Health Science Studies (AMCHSS) is recognized as a centre of excellence for public health. The centre focuses on research in the areas of non-communicable diseases, gender and health, health policy and management. AMCHSS conducts a Master of Public Health (MPH), Diploma in public health (DPH), PhD, diploma, and short courses in public health.

The Institute pursues product development on various category of devices like cardiovascular, neuro prosthetic, hard tissue devices, biological products, In Vitro Diagnostics, Orthotics etc.

Collaborative Programs

The Institute associates with the Industry/academia in programmes/product development of mutual interest. The Institute always entertains product development identified by the industry and take up collaborative development. Please contact tbd@sctimst.ac.in for the same.

Technology Transfers

Handholding with industry through Technology Transfer by the Institute dates back to 1980s and it has been four decades that the Institute is following the culture of working with the industry. The Institute provides the industry with the know-how of the product through the Technology Transfer documents, impart training to the industry and give technical support to the industry through the translation process.

CoE for Cardiovascular Devices

A Centre of Excellence (CoE) for Minimally Invasive Cardiovascular devices has been sanctioned by the Department of Biotechnology, Govt. of India. This CoE is hosted by the Department of Medical Devices Engineering, at the Division of Artificial Internal Organs of the Biomedical Technology Wing of SCTIMST.
